Richard had experienced a rough couple of months, to say the least. He still got nightmares, extremely vivid one that predominately resulted in images of his parents' mangled corpses that jolted him back into reality. Well, if reality can be appropriately define finding yourself alone in a black hole of fear and perspiration. Bruce had been great, as was Alfred, but the young ward still felt lost, alone even.

Dick Grayson sighed softly, reveling in a rare afternoon off. His thoughts drifted in and out of consciousness as his head rested against his boyfriend's chest, crafting a sense of peace he rarely ever got in their line of work. To be safe, secure, happy even, wasn't something that he had been allotted much of in his short lifetime. But for this one laps of time, one fantastic moment, Robin could relax.

Wally and Robin sat down and turned on the TV, Dick rested his head on Wally's shoulder and the rest of the team pretended not to notice. Pulse pulled out a stick of gum and munched on it, she offered a piece to everybody, but everyone shook their heads. A voice announced Superman, the Young Justice team members looked up, eyes wide with curiosity about a new mission. Superman opened his mouth but Pulse's words were out first,

Misplaced Trust ch4"Adorable?" the familiar figure scoffs. "I was definitely not going for adorable… how'bout menacing… or at least mildly frightening?" The boy examines himself and pulls at his shirt sleeves, trying in vain to smooth out the wrinkles.

"Well I thing you look just fine." Harley quips, obviously upset at the boys distaste in her clothing choices.

The boy stretches his arms above his head and heaves out a deep breath.

So that's just what I did.

I had this bird once.
When I first met him he was so small and innocent; he was so vulnerable.
But, as our friendship grew, so did he.
When I needed company he was always there, happy and chirping.
When I needed someone to talk to he was always there, listening.

But as much as I loved that little bird, I knew that someday he would have to leave me. He would need to find his own place in the world.

I was always hoping that place would be with me.

But I knew I still needed him and he knew it too. So he didn't leave me.

Never Letting GoRunning.

I'm running.

Even though my legs burn like hellfire, ache with pain, and scream at me to stop, I won't. I can't. I'm not usually the one that's this stupid but tonight I am. I will be. And nothing's going to stop me. Everything is dark around me except for the tiny flecks of light the street lamps provide to carefully show me the way, the rain pounding down hard on my body, weighing me down, but I keep on going. My small, weak feet stab into the ground, propelling me forward as fast as they can. I shake my head fiercely as I go, trying desperately to shake my slick, raven bangs that cling to the fronts of my eyes so that I can see.

For You - Part 2I can't keep myself from letting out a big yawn as I take my seat next to Bruce in the audience crowded audience. Front row, unfortunately. Which means if the camera lands on us, the entire nation will see my now red eyes, puffy from constant crying. Alfred and Bruce had to literally drag me out of bed to get me to go anywhere. I just wanted to stay in my room, alone, until I felt better; a basketball game was definitely not on my list. One of the burdens of living with Bruce, unfortunately. My eyelids start to fall again, but I snap them back open. I couldn't sleep last night at all. My bed was too cold...

My mind flashes back to the night

For You Part 3I've escapted the stadium, made it to Wally's house, and am now standing in front of his bedroom door, ready to knock. The deep blush on my face from his televised confession still isn't completely gone. I can still feel the heat there. What he said on the tv was enough to make me heat up like a fire, but the press had only made it worse. As soon as the words had left Wally's lips they had descended on me and Bruce, pushing, shouting, asking a thousand questions at once. Bruce had managed to act as a scapegoat so I could get away. No doubt he's still there, trying to fend them off.

For You - Part 1"Dick, wait!"

I don't stop, storming through the giant oak doors of Wayne Manor, not bothering to look back at him. I knew, have always know, that he was a bit dense, but this...this is unbelieveable. How could someone so affectionate and kind to me be so incredibly insensitive and stupid? I don't know what to do anymore.

"Dick, please!

I still don't stop; I keep on heading for the stairs to my bedroom where I can slam the door in his handsome, freckled, ignorant face, maybe getting lucky and the sound'll knock some sense into him. I'm almost there, climbing halfway up, when he asks the question that sets me off.

"What did I do wrong?!"

Bruce is always unfair. Despite being a genius and having more responsiblities and dealing with more crap than a thirteen-year-old ever should, he still won't let me drink coffee. He has 3-6 cups a day, says it helps him stay awake, but yet I, who stays up just as late as he does, can't have any. That's not fair. He won't even let me take a sip. And he told me if I ever asked Alfred for any, he'd ground me past the point of no return.

So not asterous.

So when I walk into Wally's house and see him lounging on his couch with a to-go cup of Starbucks coffee, I almost lose my shit.

Misery Part 2 Robin sat quietly on the couch with the team. He couldn't understand why he was even there anymore. His so-called best friend was more interested in getting a girlfriend than talking to a little thirteen-year-old boy. Rob really couldn't blame him though, since the boy wonder had been figuring lately that Wally was probably just talking to him to be nice. Looking over to the other couch, Robin longed for the older group to include him, but he knew no one wanted to talk to the loser of the team.

Reading this poem reminds me of fic I read about Wally's death for some reason. It sucks though, being the fastest man/boy alive but he just wan't fast enough that time.

This is really lovely - and also really heartbreaking because I'm pretty sure they're setting up the idea of not being fast enough as an insecurity for Wally in YJ.

I love the idea of visual poetry - and you've done really great with this, despite the limited options you get on deviantArt - lovely job
